Alex Josephson co-founded PARTISANS in 2012 after studying architecture at the University of Waterloo and Rome, and the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA). Alex is a native of Toronto. Prior to starting PARTISANS, Alex worked in the studio of Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas in Rome. Known for his rigorous commitment to PARTISANS' design vision and his ingenuity in finding high impact, Alex brings a strong creative vision for the rapidly-growing city of Toronto.

In addition to his work with PARTISANS, Alex is a lecturer and core faculty member at the University of Toronto’s Daniels School of Architecture. He frequently writes and speaks on the future of architecture, design, and cities internationally. He is also a guest contributor to Azure Magazine. As a registered architect in Ontario, he has received numerous accolades through the years -- he was named 2015 Best Emerging Designer by Canada’s Design Exchange, awarded Globe & Mail Catalyst award for Design, and has the distinction of being the only Canadian to ever have received the New York Prize Fellowship at the Van Alen Institute.

Andy is a hands-on serial entrepreneur with expertise in structural engineering, business development, construction, manufacturing and technological development. Prior to founding Building Composites, he helped launch multiple successful engineering and fabrication companies utilizing composite materials and other advanced solutions. Comfortable at every level of the industry from executive boardrooms to construction sites, his authentic, pragmatic leadership style and ability to build high-performance teams have served as growth catalysts for his companies and clients throughout his career. His areas of expertise include structural engineering, product development, operations management and construction operations.

Bob joined Northglass in 2012. For the first two years He worked on the technical side, then moved to project management and worked on the Apple Park project. In 2015, He came to the US and started the Northglass US office in New York, working more closely with architectural consultants and various contractors. He has worked on more than 100 projects at most of the major cities in the US and had a lot of experience with glass technology.

Dean Mouritzen has more than 18 years of experience in the construction industry, delivering a wide range of projects at HITT Contracting, including ground-up commercial core-and-shell base building work across the corporate office, multifamily and mixed-use sectors. In his role, Mouritzen provides day-to-day oversight of new construction projects, supporting his team through project challenges and ensuring client success by managing relationships, monitoring satisfaction and team effectiveness, and overseeing resource allocation. He is responsible for project financial, quality, safety and schedule goals, as well as preconstruction and budgeting services, subcontractor procurement, change management and project closeout. Mouritzen holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech and currently serves as an officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for more than 12 years, following seven years of service in the Maryland Air National Guard. He is affiliated with Associated Builders and Contractors and the Washington Building Congress.

Dean has a 30-year history in the building materials and construction industry ranging from quality management to senior sales management focused on the building envelope. His approach is solution based and consultative. Dean provides practical knowledge to help with design assist and material selections for projects. He has a keen interest in innovative materials and application methods for use on commercial façade projects.

Greg Simmons is a self-confessed, largely self-taught façade and wind engineering nerd. He founded Insol in 2003 and has been delivering bespoke façade screens for buildings around the world ever since. In 2019 he built WindLab — a one-of-a-kind, full-scale wind testing facility — to bring the kind of rigour normally reserved for primary structure to the screens, sunshades, and architectural features that sit on the outside of buildings. He contributed to the authoring of AWES-QAM-2-2024, the first global standard for full-scale wind testing of building envelope components and architectural features, covering aerodynamic behaviour, dynamic excitation, functionality, and wind noise. Insol's testing has supported projects from carpark cladding through to high-profile civic buildings — work where the consequences of in-service failure are unacceptable. The more beautiful the façade, the more there is to find before it goes up.

John Cetra co-founded CetraRuddy on the principle that architecture must engage the urban fabric while enriching the human spirit. His designs incorporate an aesthetic of dynamic geometric compositions and sensitively chosen materials to invoke the rhythms and textures of the urban past. John’s understanding of project goals, command of construction technology, and mastery of regulations have allowed him to create memorable buildings within the space constraints, zoning restrictions, and economic requirements of complex urban environments. His commitment to elevating the typology of urban residential architecture to a level of profound cultural impact and distinction has garnered him recognition as an industry leader in tall building technology, historic building restoration, and analytic site development. John holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Spitzer School of Architecture of the City College of New York and has taught architecture at both institutions. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a member of the Urban Land Institute, Municipal Arts Society, The Skyscraper Museum, Society of American Registered Architects, New York Landmarks Conservancy, Friend of Fallingwater, and Harvard Club.

Jordi Marasse is Project Consultant Manager North America at Reynaers Aluminum. For the last 4 years Jordi has been coordinating the North American projects. Matthias Hollwich is the founder of HWKN, a NY-based collective of architects, sculptors, socialstrategists and innovators dedicated to using architecture to shape a better world. Matthias wasborn and raised in Germany where he studied architecture and brings a dual perspective to all thefirm’s designs, combining German precision with American aspiration. He was honored in FastCompany’s ranking of the world’s Top 10 Most Innovative Architects and in Business Insider’s list ofTop Business Visionaries. Matthias Hollwich published his first book UmBauhaus- UpdatingModernism in collaboration with Rainer Weisbach and the Bauhaus Foundation in 2006. His latestbook, New Aging: Live Smarter Now to Live Better Forever, suggests a new way to think aboutaging that could fundamentally change the way we design for it. Matthias lectures widely on thetopics of architecture, sustainability, aging and innovation at world-renowned conferences,including TED, PICNIC, Stelka, and the Conscious City conference. In 2019 he spoke at meConvention about “Unforgettable Architecture”.

Reginald Truxon is a senior architectural leader with more than 18 years of experience delivering complex projects across the United States and internationally. A graduate of Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, he began his career in the Washington, DC region, contributing to major master planning and mixed-use developments, including renowned destinations such as The Wharf. Reginald is a Senior Associate and Design Management Leader at Gensler, where over the past eight years he has supported hundreds of project managers across the firm’s Southeast region, spanning offices from Philadelphia to Miami. His diverse portfolio includes large-scale mixed-use developments, professional sports stadiums, residential and student housing, adaptive reuse projects, and high-performance office towers. Beyond project work, Reginald is deeply committed to strengthening firm culture, operational excellence, and inclusive leadership. He co-leads diversity and equity initiatives, mentors emerging designers, and previously served as President of the National Organization of Minority Architects DC chapter, helping advance a more equitable and resilient future for the design profession.

Robert leads the North American activities for Jansen, a Swiss-based manufacturer of steel systems for facades & fenestration.  

Robert has over 20 years experience with international projects in both construction and architectural planning. He has a passion for innovative technology alongside an appreciation for traditional craftsmanship which perfectly combine for signature, unique architecture.

Robert has advanced degrees in Global BIM Management and Sustainable Architecture which contribute to Jansen’s approach to improve architectural performance and enhance inhabitant well-being.

Rowan O. Georges, AIA is an Associate Director specializing in specifications writing at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council (AGMCC). A believer in the benefits of collaborative practice models, Rowan is committed to integrating technical standards and protocols into the design process and to engaging specifiers in the entire lifecycle of a project.

Leading the Specifications Group in SOM’s New York office, Rowan oversees the development and production of specification documents for all projects. Since joining SOM in 2005, he has developed extensive experience working on high-rise commercial and mixed-use towers, schools, and healthcare facilities. With experience on numerous overseas projects, he has also developed an acute understanding of working collaboratively with local clients, fabricators, and stakeholders to leverage regional conditions to meet international quality and performance standards. A graduate of New York Institute of Technology, Rowan has over 23 years of professional experience.

Sara Bayer has managed several of the firm’s significant senior and specialized housing projects. She has been involved in all phases of new construction projects and renovations and was the Project Manager for Crotona Park Seniors, a new 84-unit affordable senior housing development with an LGBTQ senior center in the Bronx. She is also managing the design and construction of a multi-building, affordable Passive Housing project in Brooklyn and a 93-unit senior building designed to Passive House standards also in Brooklyn.

Sara also led the firm’s RetrofitNY project, funded through NYSERDA, in which she and a development team explored options for achieving net zero energy use through sustainable renovations to an existing pair of buildings.

Before joining Magnusson Architecture and Planning, Sara's work spanned affordable housing, private residences, museum design, transportation facilities and education design; and it included projects for the New York City Department of Design and Construction, the renovation of the Federal Trade Commission offices in Washington, DC. and the design of an addition to a Tibetan Cultural Hall.

Sara earned Passive House Certification in 2016 and as MAP’s Director of Sustainability, she offers expertise and leadership as the firm continues its focus on sustainable development work. She has led MAP to 10 NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence Awards and is a frequent presenter at conferences and panels focused on sustainable design. She also serves on the board of New York Passive House as chair of Membership Engagement and leads the organization’s annual "Regenerative Metropolis" Symposium.
